Twelve stages from Tangier to Lac Rose

The 2027 Africa Eco Race is scheduled for 24 January to 6 February. The route runs through Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal. Twelve stages and one rest day are planned. The invitation to the Czech presentation gives planning figures of around 6,000 kilometres in total, of which about 4,000 kilometres are timed special stages.

The organiser had already published the basic route on 11 September. Tangier is once again the starting point. Administrative and technical scrutineering are planned there, as is the start with a beach prologue on 24 January.

For Morocco, the organisation describes fast tracks, technical sections and navigation tasks. In Mauritania, dunes and long desert stages follow. The route continues through Senegal to Lac Rose near Dakar. The final beach stage, “La Plage”, is not supposed to count towards the overall classification.

Safety and navigation on the agenda

Safety, navigation and communication equipment, route, regulations and prices had been announced as topics for the meeting in Velké Meziříčí. The published follow-up report names no specific new rule changes or fees. It also gives no indication of any commitments to start from the drivers and riders present.
